And remember, war is doctrine and equipment and strategy and all the things the books talk about.
But the men who fought it were not paragraphs in a manual.
They had names.
They came from somewhere.
They learned how to act before they learned how to obey.
And they deserve to be remembered by the thing about them that the Germans in the end could never quite explain.
