Irma Grese was born on 7 October
1923, one of five children.

In 1936 when she was, 13 her mother committed suicide after
learning her husband was cheating on her.

According to Irma’s sister Helena, Irma was bullied badly
at school and dropped out when she was only 15.

When she was 18 she volunteered for the
Ravensbrück Nazi concentration camp where she was trained for her future career in concentration
camps.

After working several years there her footsteps led her straight to Auschwitz in 1943.

In 1944 she was promoted to senior SS supervisor the second highest rank possible for female
concentration camp wardens.

She was in charge of deciding who would be selected for work and
who would meet their death in the gas chambers.

She owed her infamous nicknames “the Hyena
of Auschwitz” and “the Beautiful Beast” to her cruelty and brutality.

She used emotional and
physical intimidation and torture on the prisoners personally beating prisoners to death and at times
raping prisoners.

She enjoyed starving her dogs then turning them loose to attack and
eat prisoners.

She personally escorted hundreds of innocent people right up to the
gas chambers staying until their last moments.

She even reportedly had lampshades made from
the skin of three dead prisoners.

Grese wore tailor-made SS uniforms and heavy black boots.

In
addition to her always loaded pistol, she was well known for carrying her woven leather whip which
was covered with cellophane so that human blood could be easily washed from it.

After the war much
was written about her sexual deviations, numerous sexual relations with the guards including
the last commander of the Bergen-Belsen camp Josef Kramer also called “the beast of Belsen”
and another infamous Nazi monster nicknamed “the angel of death” Dr Josef Mengele.

At the
Belsen Trials she was accused and convicted of her crimes and sentenced to death by hanging.

On december 13, 1945 at the young age of 22, she was executed.

Walking to the gallows her
final and only word was “schnell” meaning quickly thanks for watching world history channel and
