Some Ethiopian tribes have practiced this faith continuously for more than 3,000 years, making Ethiopia one of the oldest Christian nations in the world, older even than the Catholic Church itself.

The Ethiopian Church also safeguards one of the oldest and most complete versions of the Bible ever written.

While the King James Bible contains 66 books, the Ethiopian Bible includes 88.

Among its additional texts are ancient writings like the Book of Enoch and the Book of Jubilees, books absent from most modern Bibles.

These extra writings are part of what makes the Ethiopian Bible so staggering.

They were written in Ge’ez, an ancient language few people today can read or understand.
