The 15 Girls Who Were Forced to Taste Hitler’s Food

Hi everyone, how are you? Welcome to another video here on our channel.
Did you know that 15 girls were forced to eat all of Hitler’s food before he even ate it ? Yes, they had to taste every dish, every vegetable, every sauce to make sure nothing was poisoned.
And the worst part is that these girls were doing this knowing they could die at any moment.
Cruel, isn’t it? Think about this with me.
Every morning they woke up not knowing if it would be the last day of their lives.
Because if someone tried to poison the dictator, the victims would be women, not him.
Now think about it for a moment, why on earth did Hitler need food tasters, huh? So, the point is that he was literally surrounded by people who wanted to kill him.
I’m not just talking about the enemies of the war.
His own allies, the generals of the German army, tried to assassinate Hitler more than 40 times.
40 times.
Do you believe it? Bombs, poisoned letters, conspiracies within the SS itself.
All of this happened between 1932 and 1944.
And look how interesting, one of these girls survived and decades later finally told this absurd story that had been hidden for years.
Her name was Margot Voik.
And what she experienced goes far beyond what you can imagine, because not only was she forced to risk her life every single day, but she also witnessed firsthand the most famous assassination attempt against Hitler, the Valkyrie operation that almost succeeded in 1944.
So come with me, because today I’m going to tell you the whole story, from how these girls were chosen to the brutal fate that most of them suffered.
And I guarantee you, you’ve never heard of this before.
Let’s go to the video.
How it all began.
Before we learn the story of the girls who sampled Hitler’s food, I have a question for you.
Can you imagine how many assassination attempts the leader of Nazi Germany suffered throughout his time in power? Well, obviously these numbers vary considerably depending on the source, but most historians agree that at least 42 conspiracies occurred between 1932 and 1944.
Some were poorly planned, others came dangerously close to success, but all had one goal in common: to eliminate Adolf Hitler before it was too late.
It’s impossible to delve into all of them in this video, especially since many haven’t even made it past the planning stage.
However, it is worth remembering that the first well-known attempt is believed to have occurred at the Kaiserhof Hotel in Berlin, back in 1932.
At that time, Hitler was not yet the Chancellor of Germany, but he was already emerging as an influential political figure, surrounded by tension.
According to reports from the time, he and some party members fell ill after having dinner at the renowned hotel’s restaurant.
The suspicion raised was that of poisoning, something that had been circulating around the future dictator’s circle from early on.
However, no concrete evidence was found, and no one was arrested or held accountable for the incident.
In the following years, the conspiracies only increased in number and audacity.
Poisoned letters emerged, attempts at revenge followed the Night of the Long Knives, infiltrations of opponents within the SS itself, military coups orchestrated by army officers, bombs placed in strategic locations, new poisoning plots—in short, everything contributed to the constant feeling that Hitler could die at any moment, even before 1945.
But as we already know, none of these attempts succeeded, and this did not happen by chance.
Ultimately, the Nazi regime adopted a series of extreme measures to protect the Finha, many of them paranoid and inhumane.
One of these attitudes, perhaps one of the most disturbing, is precisely the one that gives today’s video its title.
The SS selected a group of young girls who would then sample all the food prepared for Adolf Hitler.
The logic was simple and cruel.
If someone tried to poison the dictator, the victims would be women, not him.
Curiously, this story remained virtually unknown for decades.
It only gained more attention in recent years when one of the survivors decided to break the silence and tell her story in an interview.
Her name was Margot Bock, and she’s the one we’re going to talk about now.
Who was Margot Boy? Margot Voy was born in Wimersdov, in the city of Berlin, in 1917.
Her father worked as a railway worker and, according to later accounts, refused to join the Nazi party.
This seemingly simple decision had serious consequences.
In a regime that demanded absolute loyalty, his refusal was enough to get him arrested at the time.
From a very young age, Margoa had already lived with the fear and repression that were part of everyday life in Germany during that period.
Margot herself also showed resistance.
She was reportedly denied entry into the League of German Girls, an organization that functioned as the female version of the Hitler Youth.
This choice, though made silently, did not go unnoticed and could easily arouse suspicion among the authorities.
Later, Margol married a man named Carl and began working as a secretary, leading a relatively discreet life while World War II was still in its early years.
So far, nothing in common, right? But everything began to change drastically in 1941.
Carl was sent to war by the German army and as the months passed, news simply stopped arriving.
Margou found herself alone, with no information about her husband’s whereabouts, and without any control over her own destiny in a country increasingly consumed by conflict.
To make matters worse, her home in Berlin was damaged during the Allied bombing raids, forcing Margôa to leave the city in a hurry.
With few options, she moved to Grossb, a small Prussian village, where her mother-in-law lived.
Today, this place is part of Polish territory.
Things were already bad, but believe me, they were about to get worse.
Less than 3 km from Margot’s new home was the so-called Wolf’s Lair, the secret headquarters where Hitler would spend long periods planning military operations and later leading the invasion of the Soviet Union.
The proximity to that military complex transformed the region into an extremely heavily guarded area.
Constant patrols, intense movement of soldiers, and the permanent presence of the SS were part of daily life in that place.
Given this scenario, it was only a matter of time before men from the regime knocked on Margot’s door and summoned her for what would, in practice, be a suicide mission: to sample Hitler’s food.
Well, Margot Boik was selected along with 14 other young women by the local mayor and taken to the barracks in Crausdorf.
There was no choice, explanation, or possibility of refusal.
It was there, in a simple two-story building, that the cooks prepared the daily meals destined for Hitler’s headquarters.
Every single day, without exception, Boik was picked up by a bus at her mother- in-law’s house and taken there under armed escort .
The short journey was made in silence.
Upon arrival, the young women knew exactly what awaited them.
The routine was rigid and always the same.
Between 11 a.
m.
and noon, the young women were gathered in a room with a large wooden table in the center.
On it, the soldiers placed platters full of food, various vegetables, thick sauces, pasta dishes, rice, and, on some occasions, even fruits considered exotic for the time.
There was no meat.
Hitler followed a strictly vegetarian diet.
According to Margot herself, the food was of excellent quality, far superior to what most of the German population could afford at that stage of the war.
Still, the taste was irrelevant in that situation.
Under the direct supervision of the SS, these 15 young women were forced to consume the entire meal, without exception.
Some cried as they ate, others trembled silently, fully aware that this could be the last meal of their lives.
After the tasting, the waiting began.
The officers remained watching for hours, alert for any signs of poisoning, nausea, dizziness, pain, or sudden collapses.
Only after this observation period was the food considered safe.
Then, the dishes were carefully packed in boxes and sent to headquarters, where Hitler was at the time.
For two and a half years, Margot lived trapped in this suffocating routine.
Every morning, she and the other girls woke up not knowing if they would be alive the next day.
The psychological toll was devastating, intensified by constant rumors that the Allies planned to assassinate Hitler with poison.
But the assassination attempt that perhaps came closest to killing the Nazi leader occurred in 1944.
And curiously, our protagonist was there when it all happened.

Operation Valkyrie.
It’s quite possible that you, the viewer, are already familiar with the story of the failed assassination attempt against Hitler on July 20, 1944.
This episode became one of the most well-known chapters of World War II, precisely because it came so close to changing the course of history.
The attempt even became a movie, the work Valkyrie, which was released in 2008, directed by Brian Singer and starring Tom Cruise in the lead role.
Although we are not a channel focused on film, it is worth mentioning the movie, as it helps to popularize this event and spark the interest of those who want to better understand this decisive moment.
But whether you know this story or not, rest assured.
From now on, we will explain more calmly what really happened that day.
As we’ve made clear throughout the video, Hitler wasn’t only hated by Germany’s external enemies, right? Within his own country and even within the armed forces, conspiracies against him were relatively common, especially
in the final years of the war, when defeat began to seem inevitable.
Still, none of these attempts were as ambitious, organized, or risky as this one.
Although Operation Valkyrie, or Plan Valkyrie as many call it, did not originally arise with the objective of overthrowing Hitler, the plan changed completely from 1943 onwards.
A group of German officers came to believe that only extreme measures could save Germany.
For them, overthrowing the regime, eliminating the dictator, and negotiating peace with the Allies was the only way to avoid an even more humiliating defeat than the one suffered in the First World War.
Among the main figures responsible for the conspiracy were Generals Lodinbeck, Frederich, and also Ervin Von Vitlaben.
However, the name that always stands out the most is that of Colonel Klaus Von.
Stalenberg.
And there’s a clear reason for that.
It would be up to him to carry out the most dangerous task of all: assassinating Finhara.
On July 20, 1944, Stalfenberg was to participate in a meeting with Hitler at the Wolf’s Lair.
He would carry a briefcase containing plastic explosives, which would be discreetly placed as close as possible to the target.
In short, everything seemed to be going according to plan.
At first glance, the operation seemed to indicate that it might finally have been successful.
The consequences were that the explosion occurred shortly after noon, inside the Wolf’s Den complex.
The impact was so violent that it could be felt in areas far from headquarters.
Margold Voik, who at that moment was sitting on a wooden bench next to the other food tasters, was thrown to the ground along with the others.
The shock, of course, was immediate.
The ground shook, windows shattered, and for a few seconds no one seemed to understand what had just happened.
Amidst all that confusion, someone shouted that Hitler had died.
The explosion had been too powerful not to have resulted in a fatal outcome.
However, against all odds, Hitler survived.
Injured, dazed, covered in dust and debris, he escaped with his life thanks to a series of factors, including the change of location of the meeting and the position where the bomb ended up being placed.
What should have been the end, turned out to be yet another sign that fate seemed to be protecting us.
As you can imagine, the consequences were immediate and devastating.
The assassination confirmed Hitler’s worst fears.
The enemy was not only outside, but also within their own ranks.
From that moment on, an unprecedented wave of repression began.
Thousands of German soldiers, officers, and commanders were arrested, interrogated, and executed, many of them without any direct involvement in the conspiracy.
It is estimated that around 5,000 people were killed in the following months, victims of summary trials, public hangings, and silent executions.
All in the name of absolute loyalty to the regime.
And as we will see later, Margot and the other girls were not immune to this new climate of terror and distrust.
A brutal fate.
In this growing climate of distrust and paranoia, the SS decided to act even more harshly.
The 15 young women were forced to leave their families’ homes and move into a single building, where they would live under constant surveillance, being monitored 24 hours a day.
Freedom, which was already minimal, has practically ceased to exist, hasn’t it? It was precisely during this period of extreme tension that Margot ended up forming an unlikely friendship.
She approached a German soldier who, realizing the desperate situation she was in , decided to help her.
Risking his own life, he helped our protagonist escape.
Margot managed to secretly board a train used by the propaganda minister, Joseph Gubbels, and thus returned to the city of Berlin.
The scene she encountered upon arrival was bizarre, profoundly frightening.
Berlin was in ruins.
Most of the population had already died, while others wandered the destroyed streets in search of missing loved ones.
There were also those who were simply trying to survive, fighting every day against hunger, cold, and complete disillusionment with the future.
Margol still tried to convince the other girls to run away with her, but none of them agreed.
Many still had family in the region and feared reprisals if they tried to escape.
Staying seemed, at that moment, the only possible option for them.
Unfortunately, some time later, Margot would discover devastating news.
According to her own account, all the other young women were brutally murdered by Soviet soldiers when the wolf’s den was raided in the final moments of the war.
Despite being forced to perform that role, they ended up being seen as collaborators with the Nazi regime.
Something similar also happened in many other countries with people who were somehow involved with Germans during that period.
And believe me, Margô’s suffering did not end with the end of the war.
In Berlin, she and other young women were captured by Soviet soldiers and taken to a doctor’s apartment.
They remained there for about two weeks, during which time they were repeatedly sexually assaulted .
The physical and psychological consequences were permanent.
The abuse left irreversible damage to her body, and Margot was never able to have children, carrying the silent scars of that violence throughout her life.
A drop of hope.
After surviving all these atrocities, [music] Margik returned to the ruins of her old apartment in Berlin, driven by a single hope: that her husband was still alive and could somehow return from the war.
Amidst the city’s ruins, this hope was practically all that remained to him.
Each day of waiting was marked by uncertainty, fear, and the constant feeling that the worst could still happen against all odds.
Carl really did return.
He had spent months as a prisoner of the Red Army and reappeared deeply scarred by the experience.
He was physically weak, weighed just over 45 kg, and was almost unrecognizable.
The man who returned home carried in his body and in his eyes the clear signs of the suffering he had endured in captivity.
Nevertheless, the two tried to rebuild their lives together amidst the material and emotional ruins left by the war.
Berlin was a city in ruins, with collapsing buildings, food shortages, and a permanent atmosphere of despair.
And in a way, Margot and Carl were in ruins too.
The recent past loomed like a constant shadow, impossible to ignore.
The accumulated traumas were too deep to simply disappear with the end of the conflict.
Both Margot and her husband carried invisible wounds, psychological scars that made any attempt at normalcy extremely difficult.
There were long silences, repressed memories, and pains that couldn’t find words.
Over the years, living together became increasingly difficult, and what was once an attempt at a fresh start ended up becoming too heavy a burden for both of them.
Eventually, the couple ended up separating.
Margot was never able to tell her husband everything she had experienced during the war.
Some experiences were too painful to verbalize, and silence ended up becoming their way of surviving.
Carl passed away in the 1990s, taking with him a part of that story that he never got to know completely.
A fundamental part of his wife’s life, with whom he shared those difficult years.
Margot spent the rest of her life in seclusion, practically isolated in the apartment where she was born in Berlin.
The world around you has changed.
The city was rebuilt, but she remained there discreetly, almost invisible.
Already elderly, she received daily care from nurses and frequent visits from a niece who ended up becoming her main contact with the outside world.
It was only at the end of her life that Margot decided to break decades of silence.
Realizing that her story could disappear with her, she agreed to speak.
Historians and journalists from different countries sought to hear her testimony, aware of the unique importance of it.
His words shed light on a little-known episode of the Nazi regime and gave voice to victims who had long been forgotten by history.
Little-known tragedies.
It’s impossible not to feel the weight of thinking that thousands of other stories as sad and poignant as Margamais’s have come to our attention.
Stories of ordinary people torn from their lives, forced to fulfill cruel roles within an inhumane system.
Many of these accounts have simply been erased by time, buried by silence, fear, or lack of records.
In the same way that today we talk about 15 young women used by the Nazi regime as human shields to protect a dictator.
It’s inevitable to ask: how many other people have lived through similar tragedies? How many families have been destroyed, separated, erased from history by cold decisions made in the name of absurd goals? How can we preserve the life of a man responsible for so much pain and destruction? It’s sad, heartbreaking, and disturbing all at once.
But that’s precisely why these stories need to be told.
Knowing about these events is not just an exercise in historical memory, it’s a warning, folks.
It is the only way to understand just how far human cruelty can go when absolute power knows no bounds.
Speaking about Margot and so many other anonymous victims is a way to resist being forgotten.
