Prince Abdul Mateen of Brunei has just shared new family photos – and the internet reacted right away.
In the pictures, he and Princess Anisha pose with their newborn daughter, Princess Zahra, inside a luxurious palace room with golden molding and antique furniture.
This is the first professional photo shoot of the young family all together.
Little Zahra is peacefully sleeping in her parents’ arms in a snow-white dress with a delicate headband, while Anisha is absolutely glowing beside her husband.
The photos were published to mark the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan.
For Mateen and Anisha, this is a very special Ramadan – their first one as parents.
Last year, when they were still newlyweds, the couple traveled to Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah – the smaller pilgrimage to Mecca.

At that time, Mateen shared photos from Mecca and Medina, where they prayed together and took part in iftar.
Now they are welcoming Ramadan as a family of three – and decided to mark this moment with a family photo shoot that instantly spread across social media.
But it was not only the photo shoot itself that caught people’s attention.
The real sensation was Princess Anisha’s outfit.
She is wearing a floor-length silver gown covered with thousands of sequins by British designer Jenny Packham.
The price is around seven thousand dollars.
And this is where it gets even more interesting: Jenny Packham is one of the favorite brands of Catherine, Princess of Wales, the future Queen of Great Britain.
Catherine has been wearing Jenny Packham for years.
It was in dresses by this designer that she appeared on the steps of St.
Mary’s Hospital after the birth of each of her three children – Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis.
In a gold Jenny Packham gown, Catherine attended the premiere of the James Bond film No Time to Die in two thousand twenty-one – after that, the world press called her a “Bond girl.
” At official receptions, gala dinners, and state visits – Catherine chooses this brand again and again.
Jenny Packham and the Princess of Wales have become almost inseparable.
And now Anisha – a princess from a completely different world, from a tiny sultanate in Southeast Asia – keeps appearing in outfits by the very same designer.
And not just outfits by the same designer, but very similar silhouettes too.
Back in January two thousand twenty-four, at the wedding of Thai billionaire Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha, Anisha appeared in a dark blue Jenny Packham gown with sparkling cascading embroidery and a cape.
Fashion writers at Hello Magazine quickly noticed the similarity to Catherine’s looks – the same high neckline, the same floor length, the same signature sleeves.
The dress was identified as the Atlantis model from the Resort collection, and its retail price was around four thousand pounds.
But it is not only about Jenny Packham.
At another event, Anisha appeared in a cream dress by Self-Portrait with a Lady Dior bag and J’Adior shoes – almost an exact copy of the look Catherine wore to the opening of the National Portrait Gallery in two thousand twenty-three.
After that, the press firmly gave Mateen’s wife the nickname “the Southeast Asian Kate Middleton.
” Whether this is a coincidence or a deliberate strategy remains an open question, but one thing is clear: Anisha understands very well how fashion works in the world of royal families.
At the same time, Anisha’s style is not blind copying.
She takes the code of Western royal glamour and adapts it to her own culture.
Just look at the new photos: Anisha is wearing a full hijab and a fully covered floor-length silhouette.
But in everyday life, she does not wear a hijab.
Even at her own wedding, she changed the traditional head covering – she covered only her hair and left her neck open, creating a more modern look that sparked a lot of discussion.
And at Mateen’s birthday in August, she was even sitting on his lap in white jeans and a black T-shirt – as informal as possible for a royal family.
It is exactly this contrast that makes her so interesting to the public.
Still, Anisha felt completely at home in the world of luxury even before the wedding.
In two thousand twenty-three, she attended the Elie Saab Haute Couture show during Paris Fashion Week together with KC Del Rosario – Mateen’s cousin and the daughter of Prince Jefri Bolkiah.
That same week, they also went to an exclusive dinner hosted by the jewelry house Boucheron.
Paris, couture, Boucheron – and yet the official engagement would only be announced nine months later.
But there was also a darker side to that public attention.
When Anisha’s relationship with Mateen became public, she was hit by a wave of cyberbullying.
The harassment became so intense that Anisha completely deleted her personal Instagram.
For a young woman who ran a fashion business and shared recipes on social media through her secret food account, this was a radical step.
Now she appears online only on her husband’s page – and, judging by everything, she seems more comfortable that way.
Their daughter, Zahra Mariam Bolkiah, was born on the eighth of February, two thousand twenty-six, at Jerudong Park Medical Centre.
Her birth was marked by seventeen ceremonial gun salutes from the grounds of Istana Nurul Iman Palace.
The name Zahra means “radiance” and “flower” in Arabic.
Her middle name, Mariam, is a touching tribute to both grandmothers: Mateen’s mother is named Mariam Abdul Aziz, and Anisha’s mother is Siti Mariam.
With one name, the family connected two generations.
Under Brunei’s constitution, little Zahra did not enter the line of succession – the decree of nineteen fifty-nine allows only men to take the throne.
And Mateen himself is fifth in line, so the crown will most likely never come to him either.
It seems that Abdul Mateen and Anisha chose a special rhythm of life for themselves from the very beginning.
They move easily from one world to another and still look natural everywhere.
In the summer of two thousand twenty-five, they were seen at Wimbledon – among the British crowd, without extra theatrics, looking like one of the most stylish young couples there.
And in winter, they were already walking through the Cotswolds in waxed jackets and rubber boots – calm, simple, and almost traditionally English.
But alongside this simple, almost private life, there is always another side – the royal one.
Palaces, official appearances, luxurious receptions, jewels, and looks that the press keeps discussing for a long time afterward.
And that is exactly why the new photos with little Zahra attracted so much attention.
In these pictures, it becomes especially clear how two worlds came together in one family – London everyday life and Brunei luxury.
There is also one more detail that makes this image feel more alive.
On Anisha’s birthday, Mateen posted a tender photo and simply wrote: “Happy Birthday, Nishiboo.
” This short, affectionate nickname did not sound royal at all – and that is exactly why so many people remembered it.
Behind the image of the perfect prince, people suddenly saw not just a member of one of the richest dynasties in the world, but also a young husband for whom all of this is truly personal.
And now, when little Zahra is sleeping between them in the new photos, these images no longer feel like just a beautiful royal photo shoot.
They show a family that knows how to live in two realities at once.
In one – palace gold, a Jenny Packham dress worth seven thousand dollars, and the ceremonial shine of the royal world.
In the other – quiet tenderness, private nicknames, and the feeling that in front of us are not just symbols of status, but two people who are genuinely close to each other.

The idea of reducing global dependence on a single strategic maritime chokepoint has long captured the attention of policymakers, engineers, and economists.
