The prophecies of Fatima are perhaps some of the most controversial prophecies of the Catholic Church of all time with some believing in the message that it brings and some others calling the prophecy and all its believers heretics.

But when you hear what Pope Leo has to say about the last prophecy of the secret of Fatima, you’ll be shocked.

What has Pope Leo said that has shaken the world of Catholicism? Has the church been hiding something from the public that’s finally going to be revealed to the world? Let’s find out together.

But before we look at what Pope Leo has said about the last secret of Fatima, we have to understand what the secrets of Fatima really are.

These secrets, as they are called, are not actually secrets, but rather divinely inspired prophecies that were apparently received from the Virgin herself.

But one of the most astounding parts of the prophecy comes from the fact that it was three children who were chosen to bear this great task.

The prophecies that were given by the Holy Virgin were relayed to three shepherd children who were barely educated and lived in the countryside of Portugal.

These children who went by the names of Lucia Santos and Justinta and Francisco MTO had an unremarkable childhood looking after their family’s sheep and attending classes in the local church.

But their lives would change forever when the Virgin Mary appeared before them while they were tending to their sheep.

We have to go back to the day they received the vision from the Virgin Mary to understand why this prophecy is so important.

The prophecy begins on May 13th, 1917 near the city of Porto with the children in a field who notice that in the sky there is another bright light apart from the sun.

This light eventually descends and identifies itself as an angel of peace and calls the children together and prays with them before leaving.

But before leaving, he gave them a message telling them that their prayers that they offered every day were not falling on deaf ears.

Jesus and Mary were hearing all the joys and sorrows the children shared with them.

But this mysterious visitation by a heavenly messenger would be followed by a prolonged period of silence of about a year.

During this time, the children would become even more fervent in their prayers, expecting to see the angel once again.

What they did not know is that their lives were about to change permanently.

What happened one year later? Did the angel of peace visit them once more or was it someone else altogether? Well, wait till you hear what happens because it will surprise you.

The kids almost a year after the initial visitation would be in the fields with their sheep once more when they would suddenly see the bright light once again.

But this time they had realized that what they were looking at wasn’t an angel of light.

This figure looked more feminine, which is when they would suddenly realize that they were looking at the divine apparition of Mary before them.

Mary would come down and commune with the children and request that they come and visit her every day in the field that they were standing in called Kova Dia.

The children would then obediently return to the field every day where they would find Mary waiting for them.

She then apparently led the children in praying the rosary and started revealing the future to the children.

These visitations of Mary would become known as the visitations of Fatima.

And the secrets she revealed to the children over the course of six appearances would come to be known as the three secrets of Fatima.

But now it’s important to understand what these secrets were as they were deemed to be so very dangerous that the Vatican had sealed away the secrets for several years before deciding recently to release the secrets to the public.

The first great revelations that were given to the children were shared by Lucia [music] many years later who explained that she was shown a vision of hell with tormented souls being [music] dropped into a burning sea of sulfur and fire.

And the second vision showed of what was to come on earth.

And what was it you ask? Well, it was a vision of a great war that was about to befall the nations in a few years time.

And it would be much greater than the one they were currently in.

Which war was the prophecy about, you ask? Well, it’s none other than World War II.

But the lady revealed the second secret at a price.

She had asked the children to relay a message to the church in time, stating that she requested three things from the church.

The first being that the church should consecrate the nation of Russia to her immaculate heart.

The second being that everyone should pray the rosary daily and lastly for people to observe the first Saturday’s devotion.

But it was the next part that would really scare the church.

She revealed that an attempt would be made on the Holy Father’s life.

And even though this fact was not known to the public at the time, the children’s revelation came true.

As on the 13th of May in 1981, an assassination attempt would be made on the life of Pope John Paul II.

But just like the Virgin had told the children, his life was preserved and Pope John Paul attributed his survival to our lady of Fatima.

These secrets along with the third were sealed away by the children who were instructed that it wasn’t the time to reveal these secrets to the world.

It was only on the request of Pope Joseé Alves Corera the Silva that the children finally revealed to the world what was waiting to them during that fateful period.

Many people at the time believed that the children were lying to garner attention and media popularity.

But the children had held firm by their statements and stated that the Virgin would stand as their witness by producing a miracle in the sky as she had revealed to them.

The Virgin had stated that when the world goes into a great war under the pontificate of Pas 11th, she will prove to the people of Kova era that the children were telling the truth all along.

And this sign would happen specifically on October the 13th, 1917.

On hearing the words of the children, a large crowd of both believers and unbelievers had gathered together, amassing [music] a crowd of nearly 70,000 people.

And while the massive throng of people waited, some were getting ready to make fun of the people who believed.

But that’s when it happened.

The sun that had been steadily rising to the highest point in the sky began to move erratically across the sky and eventually settled in one position and began spinning there.

And this sign ended up culminating in an appearance of the Virgin herself and all those who were in the crowd both believers and unbelievers were witness to this amazing event.

We have to understand that this miracle had a bigger impact than anyone could have ever imagined as Portugal was undergoing a great administrative hurricane as it had shifted between 45 governments in the span of just 16 years.

This means that they had shifted between regimes almost four times a year on average.

This had a profound effect on the people of Portugal who wanted to be done with the old ways and remove every trace of religion and Christianity, the very foundation of their nation, and instead replace it with science, reason, and communism.

The miracle of Fatima had been shown not just to the people of Kova area, but to Portugal on a whole.

Even if they were trying to forget about God, God wasn’t ready to forget about them.

Pope Leo had recently come out speaking on the miracle of Fatima on its anniversary, stating how it was important that the miracle of Fatima is a reminder to us every year that even when we think that we’re done with God, he doesn’t give up on pass.
