The UFC commentator paid Jake Paul a lot of credit when sharing his thoughts on this past weekend.

Paul has said that he’ll take some time off after being stopped in the sixth round by Anthony Joshua on December 19.
The fight lasted much longer than many expected before ‘AJ’ was able to cause devastating damage to his opponent with a few strikes.
It has been suggested that Paul will be fighting again in 2026 once he has made a full recovery from having his jaw broken in two places.
Joe Rogan has urged ‘The Problem Child’ to not make the same mistake as so many other fighters despite being impressed by what he saw.
Joe Rogan urges Jake Paul to step away from fighting with his health despite being impressed by him
Anthony Joshua admitted that he deserves some criticism after his performance didn’t match his expectations for his clash with Jake Paul.
‘The Problem Child’ was always going to receive praise for taking such a dangerous challenge regardless of how the fight went, even if he earned a lot of money for doing so.
However, Joe Rogan believes that Paul significantly exceeded expectations by proving that he could be competitive with Joshua until his cardio started to affect his capabilities.
The long-time UFC commentator was full of praise for the controversial boxing star not only for getting in the ring but for how the fight went for him on December 19.
Rogan also cautioned Paul about the continued pursuit of success in a dangerous sport, believing that the former influencer would be successful in anything he does.
“The thing is that I would hope he recognizes is right now he’s doing great and he’s only, whatever he is, 28 I think… Don’t do this very long because there’s a price that you pay that is not worth it,” Rogan said during episode #2429 of the Joe Rogan Experience.
“It’s not worth it and that price is depression, deep depression. A severe brain imbalance that’s going to lead you to addiction. It leads so many people to impulsive behavior.”
Rogan appeared to get slightly emotional when speaking about all of the examples of fighters who have made this mistake, which Paul doesn’t need to follow due to the amount of money he’s already made.
“The price you pay is eventually not worth it. Awesome that he did it.”

Joe Rogan points to a UFC legend as an example of a fighter who walked away at the right time
Joe Rogan famously warned his friend Brendan Schaub of the same concerns, which led to the former UFC heavyweight retiring early.
When recently reflecting on Jake Paul’s fight, Rogan pointed to a UFC Hall of Famer as one of the modern examples of a fighter who didn’t fall into the trap of overstaying his welcome.
“There’s people that get out. Like if you listen to Randy Couture talk now, he talks fine, he’s great,” Rogan shared. “He was knocked out a bunch of times. Chuck Liddell knocked him out, other guys. Knew when to dip out. Randy also didn’t begin his UFC career until his late 30s if I’m correct.”
Couture stepped away after a knockout loss to Lyoto Machida at UFC 129 snapped his three-fight win streak.
Rather than attempting to bounce back and risking more damage, the former heavyweight and light heavyweight champion retired gracefully.
“There’s a bunch of guys that are fine but there’s a bunch of guys that are really struggling,” Rogan added. “Really struggling. Don’t get there. Dip out before that happens. Know when to dip out and have friends that tell you when to dip out.”
